Songs from film

MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL

(1975)

Authors: Graham Chapman, John Cleese
Composer: Neil Innes

We're Knights Of The Round Table
We dance when ere we're able,
We do routines and chorus scenes
with footwork impeccable.

We dine well here in Camelot,
we eat ham and jam and spam a lot.

We're Knights Of The Round Table,
Our shows are formidable,
But many times, we're
given rhymes
that are quite unsingable.

We're Opera mad in Camelot,
We sing from the diaphragm a lot!

In war, we're tough and able,
Quite indefatigable,
Between our quests,
we sequin vests,
and impersonate Clark Gable.

It's a busy life in Camelot,
I have to push the pram a lot.

BRAVE SIR ROBIN

Author: Eric Idle
Composer: Neil Innes

MINSTREL:

Bravely bold Sir Robin rode forth from Camelot.
He was not afraid to die, O brave Sir Robin.
He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways,
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin!

He was not in the least bit scared to be mashed into a pulp,
Or to have his eyes gouged out and his elbows broken,
To have his kneecaps split and his body burned away
And his limbs all hacked and mangled, brave Sir Robin!

His head smashed in and his heart cut out
And his liver removed and his bowels unplugged
And his nostrils raped and his bottom burned off
And his pen...

ROBIN:

That's... that's, uh... that's enough music for now, lads.

MINSTREL:

Brave Sir Robin ran away...

ROBIN:

No!

MINSTREL:

Bravely ran away, away...

ROBIN:

I didn't!

MINSTREL:

When danger reared its ugly head,
he bravely turned his tail and fled....

ROBIN:

No!

MINSTREL:

Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about...

ROBIN:

I didn't!

MINSTREL:

...And gallantly, he chickened out.
Bravely taking to his feet...

ROBIN:

I never did!

MINSTREL:

...He beat a very brave retreat.

ROBIN:

All lies!

MINSTREL:

Bravest of the brave,
Sir Robin..

ROBIN:

I never!

HE'S GOING TO TELL!

Author: Monty Python
Composer: Neil Innes

He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!
He's going to tell!

He's going to tell about his great escape...
Oh, he fell a long, long way,
But he's here with us today.
What a wonderful escape!
